The tropical islands of Vanuatu are now more accessible than ever with Air Vanuatu’s new, non-stop service between Melbourne and Vanuatu’s capital, Port Vila. Starting 18 June 2019, the full-service airline will operate three flights per week between the two cities.
Melbourne to Port Vila flights (NF7) will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7am arriving at 12:30pm local time with a flight time of just over four hours. Flights from Port Vila (NF8) will depart at 4:15pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Melbourne at 8:15pm, with a flight time of just over five hours.
Currently, Melburnians have to connect through Sydney, Brisbane or Auckland to reach Port Vila but the new route cuts out over two hours of travel time. New flight times will allow you to fly in on Saturday morning and back Monday evening for a budget long weekend.
