ANZ and Air Vanuatu has partnered up with the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) as the major sponsor for Tok Tok Vanuatu. Tok Tok Vanuatu, in its 15th year now, is VTO’s most valuable tradeshow bringing in wholesalers from short and long haul markets and giving them the opportunity to meet the local industry and experience how diverse Vanuatu is, beyond the region’s popular holiday experience. Linda Kalpoi, Vanuatu Tourism Office General Manager said: “This year’s Tok Tok Vanuatu has a slight twist to the format. We are inviting product managers of key travel wholesalers in New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, and Europe to come to Vanuatu, go on as a family and enjoy the activities and network with operators in Santo, Tanna, and Port Vila.”
“It’s a great opportunity to show our wholesalers that Vanuatu tourism is on its way to full recovery, three months after Cyclone Pam,” said Mrs Kalpoi. “Most importantly the resilience, courage and confidence of the people, and that very special ni-Vanuatu smile.” Charles Rickey, CEO ANZ Vanuatu said: “ANZ was delighted to be a major sponsor of the Tok Tok Vanuatu, as tourism remained a key area of focus for the bank in Vanuatu and the Pacific. “ANZ continues to strategically support vital areas of economic interest in Vanuatu, including tourism,” said Mr Rickey. “Our support today strategically aligns with our priority of supporting tourism growth.” The New Zealand wholesalers led by Ms Jacquie Carson will be the first delegation to arrive in Port Vila on 26 July 2015, followed by the Australian wholesalers, the New Caledonian and the European buyers. ANZ has had a presence in Vanuatu since 1971 and is the largest bank in the country with two branches, 16 ATMs and 100 staff servicing Retail and Corporate customers. The VTO, ANZ and Air Vanuatu wish everyone a successful Tok Tok 2015!
