Ms Linda Kalpoi, Chairlady of Miss Vanuatu Committee said that “The organising committee was delighted to announce the approval of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Trade Industries and Ni-Vanuatu Business Hon. Joe Natuman to next year beauty pageant to be held in October in support of Vanuatu as the host of the South Pacific Tourism Minister’s and Board of Director’s Meetings. Miss Vanuatu has an important role in supporting gender-equality within Vanuatu; advocates for environmentally-friendly activities and she is a real tourism ambassador for the Vanuatu Tourism Office”.
The last event took place in 2013 and Ms Valerie Martinez was crowned Miss Vanuatu amongst a selection of ni-Vanuatu beauties. She then proudly represented the country at regional and international beauty pageants such as Miss South Pacific in Honiara, Solomon Islands, and Miss Asia Pacific World in Seoul, Korea.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office invited her to attend prestigious local events such as the Vanuatu Tourism Awards for Excellence, and regional shows like the Australian tourism trade road show or New-Caledonian consumer fairs.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office is the Secretariat of the official Miss Vanuatu Committee. The organising committee thank all Miss Vanuatu fans and public for their continuous support. The official Miss Vanuatu Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/MissVanuatu.
Ms Kalpoi concludes, “We would like to encourage young, dynamic and brilliant ni-Vanuatu girls in getting ready for Miss Vanuatu 2017 and we look forward to showcase Vanuatu natural beauty, cultures and talents to the World”.
