New Caledonia chosen for new 50-episode police TV drama

French TV will shoot a new 50-episode police drama in New Caledonia.

The programme series, dubbed OPJ, is based on the lives and experiences of people at fictitious Noumea neighbourhood police station.

The main character will be a female police officer played by Yaelle Trules.

Filming is expected to begin in March, with the first episode to go to air later in the year.
