Vanuatu TOK TOK 2016

IMG_2695TOK TOK was back this year, for its 15th event, tropical and full of happy faces. The tourism industry fair, TOK TOK gives overseas travel agents and wholesalers the opportunity to travel to Vanuatu, see the destination, and check out the accommodation and all that Vanuatu has to offer.

IMG_2684For resorts and hotels, TOK TOK is a platform to deepen and develop relationships with travel agents and wholesalers.

IMG_2689TOK TOK Vanuatu’s theme this year was “Discover Vanuatu – Make New Friends- Share Laughter”, promoting Vanuatu’s warmth and hospitality.

IMG_2702“TOK TOK is an integral part of the Tourism Recovery Campaign which has been in full swing for the last three months.

IMG_2685The activity to date has included a television advertising campaign, social media and digital promotions and travel agent education. The next step was to invite this very important group to Vanuatu and let them experience our beautiful country for themselves,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Joe Natuman.

IMG_2687Over 60 individual international wholesalers and media companies travelled to Vanuatu for the event, arriving on Tuesday 23rd August and having the option of travelling to Tanna, Santo or Ambrym for pre-event famils.

IMG_2691TOK TOK was officially opened on Thursday 25th, when meetings started at the TOK TOK village, held at Iririki Island Resort and Spa this year.

IMG_2694TOK TOK closed on Friday 26th, with the elegant closing gala dinner held at Iririki Island Resort.

IMG_3226The dinner was a complete success, with amazing food in a stunning setting, local dancers and fireworks.

A fantastic job was done by the VTO, the main sponsor, ANZ Bank, Iririki Island Resort and Spa, and everyone else who took part in this event, especially all the resorts and hotels, that with their daily hard work and commitment, make Vanuatu a better tourism destination each year.
